The Veg Edge: Austin

This weekend the hubby and I are going to Austin to celebrate my 25th birthday! I’ve been planning our trip and all the awesome vegan places we’re hoping to visit, which got me thinking about The Veg Edge. The Veg Edge was a special series on the Cooking Channel that my sister Nadia was asked to be on. Last September she was interviewed in Austin, along with lots of other super cool veggie folk. Her scene starts at 3:44, right after Rip Esselstyn, a former world-class professional tri-athlete, firefighter and author of The Engine 2 Diet.

While in town we hope to dine at some of the restaurants featured, along with others I found on this amazing blog: Lazy Smurf’s Guide to Life. We also hope to get some Vegan Soft Serve at Toy Joy, check out Vegan-Friendly Tattoo Shops and attend The Gathering of The Tribes, a huge vegan mega-potluck to celebrate Earth Day and enjoy the company of Austin’s vegan, vegetarian and animal rights community.
