Last year I got most of the things I asked for on my list, so this year I thought I’d make another one before the hubby goes shopping for me. We did all of our Christmas shopping for family and friends yesterday, but still have each other to shop for and some stockings to fill (and lots of cookies to bake, but that will have to wait!).
1. Tattly Designy Temporary Tattoos – Vegetable Set
I absolutely love this vegetable temporary tattoo set. What better way to show my love for broccoli? I think my little veggie-lovin’ nephews would like them too! Maybe I’ll get a real vegetable tattoo next year, but for now I’ll stick with these guys.
2. Frankie Press Daily Journal 2013
This beautiful red cloth bound journal is full of colorful patterns, vintage-inspired details and hand-drawn typography from frankie illustrator Amy Borrell. The 160 pages includes special treats like calling cards, sticker sheets and a pocket to stash stuff in, too. Love it.
3. “We come together to fill the world with wonder!” by Kozyndan
It doesn’t really get better than this print with that title. I’ve admired Kozyndan’s work for years now, and I’d love to add this print to my collection. I also love cats, so that helps.
4. YES by Yoko Ono
I’ve been feeling nostalgic lately. I don’t know if it’s the weather or I’m having a quarter-life crisis, but either way I’ve been thinking about high school. I used to skip lunch to go to the library to read books. It was then that I fell in love with this book featuring artwork by Yoko Ono. This is how I was introduced to her, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Now I just got to get me a white suit.
5. Rookie Yearbook One by Tavi Gevinson
To continue on that nostalgic note, Rookie Year One looks kind of amazing. When I was in high school I had a Livejournal account, and followed other people I thought were just so cool. Blogging wasn’t a huge part of my life, but I can relate to that teenage phase of wanting to share your favorite things with friends, posting photos and artwork all over your bedroom walls, experimenting with fashion, and just trying to figure yourself out.
Hope you enjoyed my list of favorite things! I feel like making some vegan s’mores, wrapping some presents, and going car shopping. Well, I’m obligated to go car shopping because our rental car has to be returned today. This is exactly how we got our car two years ago, except instead of a rental we were borrowing my brother-in-law’s car, and he was getting back home from a trip the next day. Wish us luck getting into some new wheels!
