Vonn’s Camping Checklist
We spent this past Sunday with the Frey Family for a backyard BBQ and Camping test-run. The whole family is planning a camping trip over the 4th of July, so they decided to try a backyard campout first to see how it would go with their two boys. The boys seemed very excited about the whole thing. As you can see above, Vonn created a checklist to follow (I love the drawings next to each item). We hung out in the backyard while they set up their tent and Karl grilled up our dinner. Mark and I brought over s’mores ingredients from Whole Foods for dessert (check out our previous s’mores fun). Vonn’s list included playing music, which we did inside the house. Mark and I played in a band called Surreal McCoy with Karl a few years back, so every now and then we’ll get together to play songs and share our musical endeavors. Karl’s been recording new songs with the boys singing and playing in the background and learning songs with Frances singing in harmony. Mark shared some new tracks he recorded for our latest documentary following artist Soo Sunny Park. Mark and I had also learned some cover songs for our anniversary, which we played with Karl. We always have a great time when we visit the Frey Family. Check out the photos Frances took during our visit on her blog brothervonn.
Mark and I are going to Los Angeles for a few days next week for a screening of our film Vincent Valdez: Excerpts for John. We’re really excited to finally make it out to LA. We plan to enjoy our screening in Hollywood, meet up with some friends, and eat lots of vegan food!
